Story
Today in the UK there are around 2,500 children and 18,000 people of all ages with upper limb differences. While not all of them need or want a prosthetic arm there is no doubt that for those who do, the route through the NHS is long, arduous and very expensive.
Since 2018 The Worshipful Company of Glovers has been fully or partially funding bionic arms for adults and children. One of the features of these arms is that they avoid trying to look like biological arms - instead they look like the sort of arm a "Super-hero" might have. Thus, instead of the user being ashamed of, or embarrassed by, their condition, they can proudly claim "You've only got an ordinary arm - mine's a Super-arm!" The new arm has, for many, proved to be life-changing. Not only can they do things they had previously found impossible, they also find that a positive attitude to their arm can help enormously with their social life and general well-being.
This Campaign fits well with the Glovers' motto of "True Hearts and Warm Hands" and by generously supporting it, we will all help this good work to continue. As a member of the Mistress Glover's Flying Circus, I'm hoping to encourage you by taking a truly terrifying flight on a biplane wings - please dig deep and support me!
(PS - for me, the timing of this exploit is significant - I recently 'celebrated' the start of my ninth decade and thought I should do something to prove that I wasn't yet ready to grow old gracefully!)
