Story

In February last year I walked 56 miles and raised £1,000 for Refuge. This year – same aim, same hat, but new walking poles and an extra two miles because it’s a Leap Year.

Before I came to Saffron Walden back in 1988, I had been living with a violent and abusive partner. I was abroad and very isolated, so I know how important support from an organisation like Refuge can be.

On any given day, Refuge supports 7000 women and children. Just £10 could provide a woman arriving at a Refuge with the support she needs for her first night. Every £1 makes a difference. Thank you!
