Story

Please help us support people in their end of life care

Hi there - we're Team Hiking Puffins (we all work for the RSPB and love a jazzy Puffin beak!). On the 11th October we're going to take on a challenge, trekking 14 miles across 13 Tors of Dartmoor. This is to raise money for the charity Marie Curie and to help people living with terminal illness get the best care possible, to the very end.

Meet the Team

Hannah Page (the inspiration behind this challenge), said:

I wanted to strut fabulously into my 40th year by challenging myself and giving back to an amazing cause. I also get to strut with my mates, who are amazing and who I’m hoping, will be there, ready to hold my hand when my legs are burning and will pull me up a tor or two. Hopefully. Right girls?!

Clare Elcoate:

Dartmoor is one of my favourite places and to walk the 13 Tors walk with my lovely friends sounds like the best sort of challenge and to support Marie Curie at the same is the icing on the cake.

Morwenna Alldis:

I've never taken on a challenge like this before and I really wanted to achieve something in 2025 that I can feel proud of. Dartmoor is my heart's home, but being a busy mum I don't get to explore it often, and I don't get to hang out with these two lovely ladies as much as I'd like - so this trek is the perfect combo! Having lost my dad last year, I know how vital end of life care is, so to be able to help people as they embark on their own next big adventure, means so much

How your donation will help

All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.

£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of our hospices.

£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.

£207 helps fund nine hours of overnight nursing care in a patient's home.

Every penny really does make a huge difference, so please support us and this great cause by donating what you can today.

Thank you so much for your support
