Martin House first opened their doors to children and families taking referrals from the Yorkshire region in 1987 , they became the second children’s hospice in the UK. Since 1987 they have played a leading role in the development of the philosophy and delivery of children’s hospice care not only in the UK but throughout the world.
Martin house provides vital support for children and young people with life–limiting or life-threatening conditions. Everything done is for the Children and helping their families make the most of their lives together, no matter how short that life may be.
By supporting and speaking up for children and their families, they continue to provide the best life possible for children with life-limiting illness.
There moto is very simple, it’s all about changing young lives and helping families get the very best care and support they can so they can make the most of every moment they have together.
Martin House holds some very simple values:-
They are passionate about what they do.
They embrace change and medical advancements.
They want to bring people together to help deliver the biggest impact wherever possible.
But … most importantly they put children and families at the heart of everything they do.
In a world of challenges and uncertainties it is the innocence and vulnerability of these children that make us want to support this charity. At Martin House every moment is an opportunity to transform the lives of children and their families facing the unimaginable burden of childhood illness.
Please remember that every contribution made however small has the power to make a difference in the lives of those that need it most. In turn this will hopefully enable, every child regardless of their circumstances to experience the joy of childhood to the absolute fullest.
