Story
After our successful re-emergence following the pandemic last year raising a total of £3400, the Hessle Waits are once again pleased to be carol singing in aid of Dove House Hospice!
We are a group of traditional Christmas carol singers based in Hessle, East Yorkshire, founded in 1916. Our continuing mission has been to sing to help others in our community. We first began singing Christmas carols in 1916 assist sick children in Hull’s Victoria Hospital for Sick Children, before fundraising for the orphanage at Hesslewood Hall.
Today, we sing around Hessle during December, and the focus of our group remains to raise as much money as possible for a worthy, charitable cause. Since 1984, our support has gone to Dove House Hospice. Since then, the Hessle Waits have raised a grand total of £85,400 thanks to the generosity of Hessle residents.
