Story
Hello,
I'm doing this event firstly because my gorgeous wife Cassie is an ambassador at Raystede, and I have seen how much joy, working with the charity has given her. I am firm friends with my couch, and wine, so I am going to try and run the 50 miles, which will be a massive challenge for me, so probably worth sponsoring just for the laughs.
We have also just had a great day volunteering at Peaceways, where the deal with pet bereavement. It was an astonishingly good experience, the staff are brilliant at their jobs, so I feel strongly that this charity is worth supporting.
The below is some info about what they do.
Raystede is a charity that aims to give animals a better life through rehoming, rehabilitation and sanctuary, and give people the support and knowledge they need to treat animals with care and respect. Raystede cares for up to 400 animals every day, including cats, horses, dogs, rabbits, hens and exotic birds.
Raystede relies on sponsorship and voluntary donations to care for the animals in its care. The charity has experienced a challenging few years as the continuing impact of the cost of living crisis means it has seen a huge increase in the number of animals it has been asked to take in.
Did you know that a donation of £250 could pay for a year’s worth of bedding for small animals. A donation of £100 could pay for a chest x-ray for a dog with a heart condition and £50 would help feed a litter or orphaned kittens with milk replacement for 4 weeks.
