Henry Boot's Half for Crisis

Sheffield Half Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·
Henry Boot PLC and Henry Boot Construction colleagues are taking on this year's Sheffield Half Marathon in support of our Charity of the Year, Crisis.
Richard Grafton, Melissa Walsh, Steven Stacey, Jack Kidder, Alex Cairns and George Talbot will be lining up on the start line in the centre of Sheffield ready to take on the 13.1 mile race, including conquering the challenging climb from Ecclesall Road out to Ringinglow.
"The Sheffield Half marathon provides a great route from the city out to the Peaks, there’s a challenging uphill section and great support all the way round. What better way to stay fit and healthy!" Steven Stacey
"I decided to take part in my first official half marathon to test myself and give myself a goal to aim for. I signed up to this before I knew Henry Boot was entering a team, however running for this cause has been an added benefit." George Talbot
"This will be my first time taking on the Sheffield Half and whilst I'm nervous about the challenging uphill section, being part of a team to support such a worthwhile cause will definitely help see my tired legs across the finish line." Melissa Walsh
"I feel incredibly passionate about supporting those experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and am proud to take on this challenge to raise much needed funds for Crisis. Their work is inspirational and our team want to make a difference to support them to help those in need." Jack Kidder
Crisis aims to relieve the huge pressure of homelessness, by helping people find safe and affordable homes as quickly as possible. They provide practical support to help people access benefits, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and more.
Crisis prioritises supporting people who are facing the most complex barriers to ending their homelessness and often have nowhere else to turn.
Crisis also works to address the root causes that push people into homelessness and they campaign on the political changes needed to end homelessness for good, and conduct research to understand and highlight the scale, causes and consequences of homelessness.
