Story
Have you ever wondered what the causes and effects of homelessness are locally? Are you unsure of what you can do to help?
Leamington-based charity, Helping Hands Community Project provides a safe space and practical support to members of our community who may be experiencing issues with homelessness, mental health, domestic abuse, poverty, addiction and isolation.
On Friday, 10 October, which is also World Homeless Day, they are holding their 10th Annual Big Sleep Out and Dawn Walk event to not only raise awareness of homelessness, but also raise vital funds to help the charity on its mission to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
We are a team of volunteers with Helping Hands' soup kitchen, who have not only seen first hand the amazing work this charity does, but also the devastating impacts homelessness can have.
This is why we are all braving the cold this October and taking part in the Big Sleep Out, and to better understand the challenges faced by those sleeping rough in our community.
Can you help us by sponsoring us? Any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping to tackle homelessness locally.
Together we can make a difference.
