Story

Activities between- 1st January to 31st March

So, I saw a challenge by the charity, online which was done a few years ago and decided I needed some motivation through the new year and also get me out there among people to help my anxiety. This is going to be tough.

So it's to complete '10 5km's in your local park' but I decided to do 10 parkruns and it will also include my 100th. I've allowed 3 month's for weather and health and also the chocolates I bought run out at the end of march. I must be mad to this!

The reason for raising money is that I have epilepsy and I want to say thank you to the neurologists and to the epilepsy nurses of Leeds Hospitals as they are an amazing source. The nurses especially as I've been lucky to speak to Jo, Lizze and Caroline at separate times when I needed advice, change of medication or if I've been worried about something. And they are bloody amazing. Leeds are so lucky to have them. So hopefully we can raise awareness of the work the staff do and also raise awareness of epilepsy and as I was told last year 'epilepsy is random'.

Also I now have an amazing neurologist (think it's my 5th and include a specialist in there) and she is amazing. She is encouraging me to keep running as it's good for everything and a it's a form of meditation in a way. You're so busy thinking about running you forget about everything else, apart from cake and coffee at the end.

My anxiety is what is stopping me now and I feel like 6 years have disappeared in a flash. I wouldn't say wasted as I've tried my hardest to keep trying to get out there and be a normal human being. But sometimes you have to realise you can only do so much. And if I can step out that front door once in a while and feel safe then that's all I can ask for.

So I ask if you can spare £2 or more and help me raise money to say thank you to the charity that's helped me and the work they do that would be amazing
