Story
On April 27th, 2025, I will be taking on the TCS London Marathon in aid of a charity that has been a huge part of my life for the past twelve years. Challengers runs playschemes across Surrey and Hampshire for disabled children and young people, giving them the chance to have a brilliant time, make friends, and try new activities while also providing vital respite for families.
The handsome young man in the photos is my son Harry. Cheeky, with a love of life and an infectious laugh, Harry also has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and requires one-to-one care. He has been a regular (and very enthusiastic!) attendee of Challengers playschemes since he was four years old. Challengers has given him opportunities which most of us take for granted - the chance to socialise, play, have fun and feel like he belongs.
Challengers’ funding, and ability to meet the huge demand for their play schemes, is under extreme pressure due to recent cuts. I am very proud to be a part of Team Orange, and hugely grateful for any support which you can offer. I hope I can play a small part to help raise vital funds to ensure that Challengers can continue to spread their unique brand of happiness and fun!
