Story
This year is the 50th Wimbledon Village Stables Sponsored Charity Ride. I am delighted to be taking part riding ten miles, in fancy dress costume, starting with a colourful parade through Wimbledon Village & across to Richmond Park.
The WVS Charity Ride has been running since 1976 and is the longest running , most successful sponsored ride in the country, raising over 1 million over the past 50 years for many charities.
This year I will be riding to raise money for the Riding for the Disabled Association Hyde Park, a charity that I have been volunteering with for the past 2 years and where I have seen at first hand the incredible positive benefits of horse and human contact.
Based in central London, RDA Hyde Park is run by a small group of volunteers alongside qualified coaches.
It is dedicated to enriching lives through horses; with a variety of riding exercises and games. The weekly sessions give a life enhancing experience, which provides therapy, fitness & skill development, along with a sense of independence & freedom benefiting the lives of disabled people living in central London.
If you can, please come along on the day to support me. We will be parading down the High Street when we set off at 9.15 and again when we return at 12.15
Wimbledon Village is making it a Dress Up for Charity Day and along with the Wimbledon Guild they are organising many fun events including a doggie fancy dress competition. Come along & join the fun.
Thank you for visiting my page and any donation you can make will be very much appreciated.
