Story
I did not know about The Swallows Charity until a month ago when head and neck cancer shook my family.
The Swallows Charity supports all people affected by head and neck cancers: patients, caregivers, friends and family. The Charity provides group support via monthly meetings at locations across the UK, as well as one to one support via a 24/7 help line. The Swallows Charity can signpost to literature/information and Charity representatives can be available in Clinics to help patients and carers.
The treatment regime for head and neck cancer often involves intensive radiotherapy given 5 days a week for 6 weeks. In line with this treatment plan, I will be running 5k 5 days a week for 6 weeks (12th August until 20th September), as well as running the Cardiff 10k at the halfway point in this journey on 1st September. My family will be in my thoughts each time I run and will certainly spur me on during the rainy summer days in Wales.
I'd really appreciate your support in raising money for this great Charity. I'm extremely grateful for any donation big or small. The Swallows Charity website says "£100 to us is like winning the lottery" so every pound really does count.
