Story
This is it! London Marathon 2024 here I come!!!
After a failed attempt last year, my knee gave way half way through training, I am pleased to say that this year I have completed my final long training run and will make that start line. It is going to be painful and not in a time that I would have liked, still injured and heavily taped, but I am DETERMINED to do this! 'Jeffing' has become my new best friend.
Whilst I managed to get a ballot place, I am raising funds for Hospice. A Charity very close to my heart, which has helped so many of my family and friends over the years.
Thank you to those that sponsored me last year, your donations (£295) went straight to the Charity and I felt very guilty about not even crossing the start line for this.
This year, I did not want to set up my JustGiving page until I knew that I could complete the training and make that start line, so here I am, less than two weeks to go - excited, nervous, but I will make it!
I am not a natural runner and still injured, so this will be a major major challenge for me, but I would like to use this to raise as much funds as possible for such a worthwhile charity. All donations very much appreciated!
Thank You!
Helen
