Last year’s Sea Dip for International Women’s Day was such a success that we’d like to do it all over again this year, but we want to go even bigger!

On Wednesday 6th March 2024 the McCarthy Stone Foundation with our McCarthy Stone Women’s Network is organising a number of fundraising chilly dips.

We are raising funds for the McCarthy Stone Foundation. All donations will be matched by McCarthy Stone and donated to the charity. The McCarthy Stone Foundation provide grants to small grassroots charities who bring connection, engagement and purpose to older people.

McCarthy Stone Foundation Charity do some amazing work with smaller community groups that support older people. Giving grants to research projects and generally supporting and promoting the health and Wellbeing of people ageing.

I decided to take part in this particular event as one of my New Year Resolutions was to try out cold water swimming locally, so hoping this is me getting my toe in the water!

I have started getting into training for the cold water experience this week, i have made contact with sale water park M33 2LX,My open water swim WA3 1BQ and USWIM - Intro's to Cold water at Boundary Water & Dock 9 Salford Quay.

Not to mention my daily freezing cold shower each morning!

16th February, getting ready for a short swim at Sale Water Park tomorrow in preparation!

20th February managed to complete 200 meter swim on Saturday, will be in training again this Saturday 24th Feb.

We have been notified that on Wednesday 6th March the sea Dip/Swim in Lytham St Ann's will be taking place at 06.30am due to high tide (very early and probably a bit dark, but still up for the challenge!)

29th February ,getting very close now! Did another swim at Sale water park Sat 24th and back again 2nd March getting the practice in. I am managing to swim further now and get in quicker!

If you have not managed to sponsor me yet, with the donations from all at the Limes and the just giving page I am just £25 off my £500 target!

McCarthy & Stone will then match funds raised, so a supper £1000 for the charity!!

We did it! It took us a little time to find the sea and it was cold and very early, even caught the sun rise. Photo to follow.

Monies raised £540 in total thanks to all the Homeowners at the Limes Lymm ,family and friends.

McCarthy & Stone will then match funds raised so a final total of

£1080.00 !!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH !!!!
