Story
On Sunday 6th August we are starting our journey from ‘Lands End’ to ‘John ‘O Groats’. For a reason which is currently eluding the pair of us we decided to do this by cycling!! So, we have 14 days to cycle a total of 1009 miles (Subject to our ropey navigation skills) or 1624 km, climbing a total of 55,310 feet or 16,858m! (That’s twice the height of Everest)
Having decided to take this magnificent challenge on we would both like to donate any funds we can raise to the British Heart Foundation. Both Kelly and Helen have had their families impacted by various heart related diseases, and subsequent sad life loses. For Helen this will be particularly in memory of Jamie Canon who sadly passed very suddenly back in 2018, aged 36 from an intrapericardial hemorrhage and a ruptured dissecting aortic aneurysm. Extremely rare in someone of Jamie’s age and fitness and has left his wife of only a few years to raise their lovely boys without him.
So, we ask you to take a moment, think of how the BHF may have supported or researched to help save or improve the life of someone you know and love? If they have not touched you yet, then we are sure they will in the future.
Please help us reach our fundraising target, we will do the pedaling, please can you do the giving!!
Thanks,
Helen & Kelly
