Story
I am privileged to have been be able to celebrate a BIG birthday in June with friends, good food and lots of lovely cake. In thankfulness for this special time I am fundraising to support the people of Afghanistan whoes situation is so different to my privileged one. Afghanistan is in the grip of a catastrophic food shortage where half of the population don't have enough to eat.
On the 17 September I am booked to do a skydive to raise funds for the people of Afghanistan. So I hope by my jumping out of a plane you may wish to donate - the price of a cup of coffee and cake, or what you can :-) - to help Tearfund local partners provide emergency food packages, as well as distribute kits to help families who have lost their incomes and homes.
The generous donations of supporters have already made a difference for hundreds of families who have received life-saving support. But the situation is serious and is a long term one.
"We are not living like normal humans", says Muhannad. "How will life go on in a family without bread, clothes, fuel, and less than 80 pence per week?"
Stale bread is sold in the markets - this is what people have to spend the little money they have on - bying stale bread! No one should have to do this.
Tearfund partners are doing everything they can to help by donating to my fundraiser we are ensuring that they can do even more. Please donate what you can. Thank you so much for your part in helping the people of Afghanistan.
