Story
I am raising money for the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity by completing a marathon distance trek of 42km (26 miles) of the South Downs on 4 May 2024.
As you know I'm not a great runner or walker, following various operations on my right leg and usually prefer to travel on 2 or 4 wheels! However I wanted to push myself this year for a charity challenge and it will mean working hard to get my fitness levels up!
The South Downs trek is graded as "tough, not for the faint-hearted and should not be undertaken lightly" - so I've certainly got a challenge on my hands!
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is a world-leading cancer centre that provides the very best care and life-saving treatments to patients across the UK. The charity funds state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to help ensure doctors, nurses, and researchers have everything they need to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
Statistics show 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with the disease at some point in our lives and sadly we all know someone affected by cancer.
I'd be most grateful if you could join me in supporting the vital work of the The Royal Marsden, by making a donation (any amount would be amazing).
Your contribution will help ensure the world leading research can continue, giving hope to those who need it most and patients can get access to the best possible care and treatment.
With your support, we can make a real difference in the fight against cancer x x x
