I am taking part in the Hampshire Hoppit Trail half marathon this year in memory of my Aunt Paula Tait. She was cared for by the hospice team during her final days and they provided comfort and support to the family during a most difficult time.

She was a keen runner and the Hoppit was her favourite race, on home turf. I’d said I would run it with her one day but sadly that wasn’t to be.

It’s a challenging course and off road trail running is something I find really difficult after suffering a serious injury running off road in 2016. This will be a huge emotional, psychological and physical challenge but for a charity that has done so much to support my family as well as so many of my close friends too.

I appreciate times are tough so any support is hugely appreciated and I hope to be able to secure matched donations from Simplyheath (my employer) to help reach my target.
