Young Somerset have been chosen as a beneficiary of The Taunton Soroptimists annual Swimathon.

Young Somerset is a charity that has developed and thrived over its 25-year history. It exists to put young people first, providing support and opportunities to thousands of young people across the county every year. Young Somerset is an organisation that focuses on being an inclusive and compassionate environment for children and young people up to 25 years old.

Young Somerset delivers a range of services that are aligned to statutory provision and support young peoples’ personal, social, economic, and educational development, and strives to deliver positive, sustainable outcomes for children, young people, their families, and their communities.

STAR, as part of Young Somerset presents funds to young people with a focus on those most vulnerable and disadvantaged. This enables them to participate in healthy and organised activities which many other Somerset children and young people take for granted.

Our aim and purpose is to enhance and enrich their lives whether through sport, music, art and drama or simple by enabling them to participate in activities with other young people. STAR funding is a lifeline to many young people, allowing them to experience ordinary childhood activities which otherwise would be out of their reach.
