Story
Please join me in supporting Maggie's Cancer Care by sponsoring my ultramarathon run from Henley on Thames to Putney on April 27th, 2024. This challenging 100km journey will test my endurance over 12+ gruelling hours, requiring rigorous training over the next 8 weeks, mental strength, and unwavering determination.
Why am I undertaking such a huge challenge? I'm doing it to raise funds for Maggie’s Cancer Care at the Royal Marsden, specifically in support of my friend Jake’s mum, Laura, who has been battling secondary breast cancer for over a decade. Throughout her journey, Maggie's Cancer Care has been Laura’s steadfast support system, offering emotional and psychological support in a nurturing environment filled with love for Laura and her family, Alastair, Emily, Tom, Max and Jake.
Laura's resilience and spirit inspire me, and I'm running to support her and countless others facing the challenges of cancer. Maggie's provides not just medical assistance but also emotional and social support, offering patients and their families a sanctuary to navigate through tough times.
Maggie’s holistic approach to cancer care allows families to maintain their normal lives despite the illness. I've witnessed first-hand the impact Maggie's has had on Laura and her family, providing love and care to each member.
Your support means everything. Every step I take, every kilometre I conquer, brings us closer to offering hope and courage to those battling cancer. Your contributions will directly aid Maggie's in continuing their vital services.
Thank you for your support, and I eagerly anticipate seeing many of you on race day!
