Story
Hello!
HMCC are at it again and this year's hike is bigger and better than ever before! A group of us will be enduring the Cairngorm 4000s challenge in the Scottish highlands! We are delighted, this year, to be raising money for MND.
Please make sure to read Hannah's Story and donate generously to this vitally important cause!
Hannah's Story
Hi everyone,
My name is Hannah Barnett. In 2012, I lost my dad to Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
MND is a progressive disease which involves the degeneration of the motor neurones and wasting away of muscles. It can affect an individual's ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and eventually breathe.
MND currently effects up to 5,000 adults in the UK. It is, at this very moment, incurable and kills a third of people within one year, and more than half within two years of diagnosis.
My dad was a caring and selfless person who was always there for his family and friends. Through his strength and determination, he never gave up and continued to work until the very end. Along with my husband Jordan, Heaton Mersey Cricket Club are hoping to show a comparable level of determination as they complete the Cairngorm 4000s challenge in May this year.
If you can, please support this incredibly worthy cause. They money raised will make a massive difference to the lives of people who are affected by MND in the Manchester and District Area.
Thanks so much for visiting our page. It is greatly appreciated.
