Story
I’m running The London Marathon this April which will be challenging after giving birth to Ellie just 7months ago. I would like to help raise money, and awareness of MPS disease and Acorn Hospice Worcester who helped Ollie my cousin’s beautiful boy.
Ollie was diagnosed with severe MPS disease, there is no cure for this. MPS disease is a rare inherited disorder which affects many systems in the body and occurs when there is not enough of a particular enzyme to break down used mucopolysaccharides. This causes progressive damage and tragically death.
Ollie was just over a year and a half when he passed away.
The Acorn Hospice Worcester have been amazing at supporting families and children going through similar situations and offer a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families.
To raise money I am running a sweep stake, £10 to guess my marathon time (leave in comment below) and win £100 cash and 2nd nearest a Jordons and Ryvita hamper (courtesy of James!). All proceeds will go towards the charity. Good luck!
