On Thursday, 23rd July 2026, a devastating fire started at Headon Warren, a beloved natural beauty spot on the Isle of Wight.

It's burnt 60 acres of gorseland, affecting wildlife and locals alike.

Firefighters have come from all over the south of England and done a tremendous job to put the fire out.

Whilst putting out fires is the main purpose of their job role, firefighters are constantly risking their lives day in, day out to help us. Not just for burning buildings either, but seeing to horrific car crashes, education on fire safety and precautionary measures. They do a cracking job despite being understaffed, underpaid and massively underappreciated.

Whilst we can put pressure on the government to fund our fire services correctly, I want to raise money for the fire fighters charity as a way of showing our gratitude and thanks for both recent events on the island as well as elsewhere.

The fire fighters charity raises money to support firefighters across the country with lots of different aspects, ranging from those currently serving, retired as well as their families.

This is thoroughly deserved for everything they do for us. Please join me in showing the love to these wonderful heroes.
