Story
On 24th November, members of the UVI are putting on a fashion show in school in aid of Loving Humanity. This is a brilliant charity who support women and girls living in poverty and war zones, giving them reusable sanitary products. In addition, Loving Humanity provides period pad micro-factories to some of the poorest communities in the world – giving back dignity to those who need it most.
We've decided on Loving Humanity as, being a girl’s school, we are passionate about helping women and girls globally, especially when it comes to education; keeping girls in education is the first step to equality.
The fashion show will have the overarching theme of ‘Studio 54’, so get dressed up in your best 1920s-glam outfits! Each year group will be given a theme of their own to co-ordinate their runway exhibition, with categories as wide-ranging as ‘80s disco’, ‘Wild West’ and ‘British Icons’, and will present their creation by sending members of their year down the runway. Any good fashion show needs an audience, so do come along!
The show will be ticketed, with prices for students being £3 and adults, £15, promising you fashion and fizz. If you want to donate but cannot attend, there please donate here. It is completely student-led so any and all contributions are greatly appreciated, especially since it’s going to such a worthy cause. All the money donated will go to supporting Loving Humanity and their effort to provide the best life for women and girls in places where every day brings new dangers.
The HGT hopes to see many of you there – it is sure to be a wonderful, eclectic, gloriously fashionable evening!
