London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hello 👋
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page.
On 27th April 2025, I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Dementia UK, Brain and Spine Foundation and Sepsis UK.
I have chosen these charities due to having family and loved ones who have suffered with Dementia and who we have lost due to brain aneurysms and Sepsis.
Every three minutes in the UK someone develops Dementia. It is a progressive condition meaning it gets worse over time. Dementia doesn't just affect the person with it but also family and loved ones who watch their nearest and dearest deteriorate. This is such a cruel illness and watching someone you love change so drastically is sad.
We unexpectedly lost one of the best people we know due to an aneurysm back in 2008.
Most brain aneurysms only cause noticeable symptoms if they rupture. This leads to an extremely serious condition known as a subarachnoid haemorrhage, where bleeding caused by the ruptured aneurysm can cause extensive brain damage or worse. If a brain aneurysm is detected before it ruptures, treatment may be recommended to prevent it rupturing in future. Women tend to be more at risk than men.
Brain and Spine Foundation cover over 600 known neurological conditions such as stroke and MND.
Sepsis is a silent killer, we have lost my cousin to Sepsis, she was far too young to leave us and I have also seen the absolute strength and determination it takes for Sepsis survivors to recover. Sepsis can affect any person at any age, if caught quick enough it can be treated. 48000 people in the UK alone sadly died of Sepsis last year.
This is going to be a huge challenge for me so any support you could give would be greatly appreciated!
