Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.
Our 12 year old son Finnley was diagnosed with psoriasis in 2020.
Over the years he’s tried many different steroid creams and ointments.
In October 2023 he was referred to Dermatology at our local hospital where he started a 3 month course of Ultraviolet B (UVB) phototherapy. The light slows down the production of skin cells and is an effective treatment for some types of psoriasis that have not responded to topical treatments. Unfortunately it didn’t fully clear Finnley’s skin as we had hoped.
This March, he began taking Methotrexate to help control his psoriasis by slowing down the production of skin cells and suppressing inflammation. This medication requires him to have bloods checked and we’re back at the end of June to see if they are happy with the progress.
The Challenge
On 14 July 2024, myself and his dad are running the London 10K to show our support to Finnley and others with this condition.
