Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have taken up the challenge to drive a 24 year old Volkswagen Passat from St Omer in France to Venice in Italy at the start of September. During the week we'll travel through France, Belguim, Germany (including a visit to the Nürburgring), Austria, Italy and then home via Switzerland. We'll have challenges to work through including a decent through the 48 hairpin-turn Stelvio Pass over the Alps. We'll be in very fancy dress - photos will be added below once we're underway from Saturday 2nd.

Our chosen car (2nd Choice) for the rally is a 1999 Volkswagen Passat. 1st choice was a Volvo V40, which blew up after just one day and less than 10 miles! Buying reliability for under £999 is not easy!

We are raising money for Parkinson UK, which Rob's father suffers from. All the money raised will go to the charity. The car purchase, silly costumes, fuel and spare parts have come out of our own pocket.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
