Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the London Marathon to raise funds for Dementia UK, and the cause is very close to my heart – it's aimed at supporting my dad who has been bravely battling an aggressive form of dementia.
Running this marathon will not only be a personal achievement but also a tribute to the man who has been my biggest cheerleader and supporter throughout my life. It's a way of expressing gratitude for the inspiration he has provided, and a testament to the belief that, when I face the inevitable fatigue and moments of doubt during this race, I can draw strength from him.
Dementia is a challenging journey, not only for those who face it but also for their loved ones. Many of you will know it is the silent killer of our generation and in donating to this cause, you are supporting all those who have family members/loved ones experiencing this traumatic and devastating illness. Witnessing my dad's strength and resilience in the face of this condition has inspired me to try and help and contribute in some way to the ongoing research and support for individuals and families affected by this cruel illness.
If you're interested in supporting us, your generosity will not only motivate me during the marathon but, more importantly, your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. HBx
