Whilst I am doing this for my own personal achievement it is an excellent time to try and raise money for charity. With this in mind, I am running for Cancer Research, which is a charity close to my heart as my Grandad passed away in 2004, when I was just 17 months old, to this dreadful disease. I was very young at the time and do not remember too much about him, although I am told we would have got on like a house on fire. It left a big hole in my dad’s life and I know he misses him terribly. It is sad also that I missed out on so much and getting to know him… this is my way of showing a mark of respect and salute in his memory.
