2563kms Via Alpina Trek Across the Alps
Steve Boylan joined the Royal Engineers in April 1993. At the end of his impressive career, Steve was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident that has left him paralysed for life. Steve receives fantastic round the clock care at the Care for Veterans Nursing Home in Worthing, West Sussex.
I joined the Royal Engineers with Steve and he remains a loyal brother, friend, father and son and I am attempting this alpine odyssey across the Alps to raise money for Steve and for all Veterans at Care for Veterans.
The Via Alpina Red Trail is a 2563kms (1592 miles) hiking trail across the European Alpine region; departing from the Adriatic Sea in Trieste Italy and culminating at the Royal Palace, Monaco at the Mediterranean. It traverses 8 countries including Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, France & Monaco and crosses international borders 44 times.
I am looking to raise £1 for every 1km walked; so let's get together and smash this target!
