Story

MY APPEAL

After riding 953 miles on my virtual bike in 2021; I said I would never repeat it.

However, Our Church has opened its doors to anyone who needs a warm place. A bite to eat, or just some human interaction.

WINTER WARMERS is a great cause, but it needs money to pay for heating, food and meal provision.

This is why I want you to support this cause that aims to help vulnerable people iin our community

WINTER WARMERS

Costs are rising, and as we move further into winter many households in Bothwell will be plunged into fuel and real poverty. How can you help?

Bothwell Futures and Bothwell Parish Church are working side by side to open the church building as a warm place, offering FREE tea, coffee, and a warm lunch and supper.

There will also be lots of activities for all ages and the whole community such as jigsaws, puzzles, colouring in pages for adults and children as well as PS5s and a cosy homework corner.

As well as the church being a warm place we are also opening a FREE community larder in a temporary prefab building down the side of Bothwell Parish Church to be a private base where you can pick your own dried, tinned and long-life food, toiletries and other goods to pop into a bag to take home and help you get through the week.

This all costs money and we can't do it without you. If you are able, please consider donating what you can today.

About the campaign

We are in the middle of a cost of living crisis. With fuel and food price increases, Bothwell Futures and Bothwell Parish Church are working together to provide a place of warmth and acceptance with comfortable seating and a warm welcome.

About the charity

We are situated in the heart of the community, a place where all are welcome on and offline, a place where no one is a stranger. The church building itself is ancient, dating back to 1398 and requires ongoing maintenance to safeguard its future and allow us to be here for the next generation.
