I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and increasing awareness of the great work that they do every day. I chose Macmillan as my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011 and following successful treatment and fantastic support from Macmillan and other charities, was declared cancer-free in 2017. I want to contribute to helping anybody who is affected by cancer in their lifetime.
As a personal challenge, I have always seen running the London Marathon as a great achievement and this year I decided to bite the bullet. Having never run further than a half marathon (21km) in one go, I have accepted the challenge. I know it will take months of training and some serious hard work and determination to finish the race in one piece, but I am ready for it. My goal for the race is to finish in less than 4 hours (5:41/km pace) which will be no easy feat.
I will be running the marathon with my friend and work colleague Jack who is fundraising for Tourettes Action Charity. Check out Jack's Just Giving page here.
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and if you're a UK taxpayer please tick the Gift Aid option when donating to add 25% to your donation from HMRC!!!
