Two years ago three film industry athletes undertook an epic ride to the western most point in Europe, on their day off, before breakfast, and with a hangover. They endured blistering heat, but found stunning Portuguese roads for an invigorating trip. However the price was Covid all round, and a steady decline from peak fitness, less saddle and increased couch time for some and starting families for others!

But it all changes this year, as the challenge of the Dragon Ride has been accepted, and the training schedule is laid out before them. Levels of fitness never before achieved have to be found to survive.

Unfortunately pressures of the Film Industry have forced one who shall be nameless to pull out before committed to sponsors, but Duncan and Harry press on, although both with busy schedules limiting training.

They have to complete 157Km and 2396m climbing in the Brecon Beacons, and whilst not having a clue where their limits are, it seemed fairly obvious the the Gran Fondo and Devil routes at 213km and 296km! were beyond those limits, and a small amount of sense was applied when signing up.

To commit even further to this challenge they have decided to raise money for Macmillan, please give generously to pile on even more pressure to complete the task, and dissuade the natural tendency to feign injury, find foreign employment or jump in the broom wagon or taxi at any point.
