London Marathon for Cornwall Hospice Care - 2025

2024 has been a year of finding comfort in being uncomfortable, through doing things I never thought I would do. Like many, the London Marathon is a bucket list item, but one I didn't think I would take on so soon. After being inspired by a friend and watching in awe as thousands took on the challenge earlier this year, I put my name forward for a local charity. Several months and a phone call later, here we are!
I'm dedicating my London Marathon attempt to my Grandparents but in particular, my Grandad Alfie and Mervyn. Growing up, I would hear tales of Grandad Alfie swimming from Par to Polkerris only to run back to St Blazey after and bore witness to Grandad Mervyn's relentless work ethic. Both are massively inspirational men who I hope to continue the legacy for.
Sadly, they are no longer with us. I was able to say goodbye to Grandad Mervyn but I was not so fortunate with Grandad Alfie. Loss has taught me just how precious time is and how important your last moments are with a loved one.
To this end, I am taking on the iconic London Marathon on the 27th of April 2025 to raise vital funds for Cornwall Hospice Care. By sponsoring me you will make a huge difference to someone in Cornwall facing a terminal illness right now. Your donation will help fund the hospice nurses enabling them to provide peace, comfort, and calm to patients and their families. The hospices are such special places and this wouldn't be possible without your support.
Over the coming weeks and months, I hope to visit the hospice and speak with nurses and residents to see just how important your donation is.
Thank you for being the difference!
