Story
Why London?
Started running during covid and haven't really stopped since. After completing Brighton 2024 marathon i begged my friends to never allow me to sign up to one again... Anyway fast forward 3 months and Loros emailed to confirm my place. Biggest race in the world for the best Dad right? You know it makes sense!
Why Loros?
Loros is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
I decided to run for LOROS due to losing my dad to cancer back in December 2018. When my Dad was coming to the end of his life Loros gave him a place to feel safe and our family to be together. My aim was to try and provide other families with the opportunity to access Loros services and have the comfort my Dad had. I can never repay the people who looked after my Dad but I hope this goes some way to helping.
How far will my donation go?
It costs 7.7 Million per year to keep the lights on at Loros. Times are tough for everyone so please give as much or as little as you can.
£5 could pay for meals for a patient for a day.
£10 could pay for collection of a patient from home for day therapy.
£25 could pay for a protective uniform for a nurse.
£100 could pay for a Community Nurse Specialist patient visit.
