Story

So, this is the year I’ve decided to take on two endurance challenges! Having successfully completed the Trek26 Cotswold Way challenge earlier this year, I am really eager to take on one more before the year is out.

For this fundraising event, I’ve decided to take on a trek that I’ve wanted to do for many years. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to climb Snowdon first thing in the morning, and watch the sunrise. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?!

I see at first hand the need for extra funds at Katharine House and am very aware that this need will only continue to increase year-on-year. We as nursing staff want to provide the best possible care for our patients but this takes money. A lot of money.

It costs £9 a minute to run Katharine House – that’s just under £13,000 per day. The money I can raise will not only help to fund the clinical costs at the hospice, but also all the extra services that make it such a special place – from bereavement support to art therapies, relaxation class to the hospice food, and so much more.

I know that for many, money is tight at the moment but if there is anything you can spare to sponsor me to complete this challenge, I would be very grateful. As would the entire team at Katharine House Hospice! Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
