Story
I was supported by Mummy’s Star in my time of need. My daughter was 6 months old when I was diagnosed with cancer. The struggles were real. I so wanted to be with her during my maternity leave, but understood I needed to prioritise my operation, recovery and radioactive treatment, to be there for my family in the future. I will never forget how torn I felt.
The forum on Mummy’s Star was a safe place for us Mums to talk about our concerns. There were often difficult choices that had to be made. Mummy’s Star also helped us take part in bonding activities, so we didn’t lose touch whilst I was in hospital or unable to hold my children.
I am thankful to have found Mummy’s Star and would like to give back.
I will therefore be Star Jumping every day in December and minutes jumped will increase with the date, so...
* 1st December = 1 minute of star jumps
* 10th December = 10 minutes of star jumps
* 24th December = 24 minutes of star jumps!
That adds up to 300 minutes, which adds up to 5 HOURS OF JUMPING! My husband Chi will be timing me :)
Every donation will help!
Mummy's Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to supporting women and birthing people who are diagnosed with cancer in or around pregnancy. Your donation means these families can reach Mummy's Star and their specialised support. This includes emotional support for mums and parents, connecting families with others in a similar position, offering small grants to relieve the financial burden of cancer, supporting partners and family, promoting awareness, and providing training in cancer and pregnancy.
Thank you!
