Story
I'm going on an adventure....
As a response to the cost of living crisis, beginning on 28th October I am pledging to cover 1,010 miles (the distance Frodo and Sam travelled from The Shire to Mordor) in 12 months for Trussell Trust.
One does not simply walk into Mordor... I will be walking, running, and converting weightlifting sessions for the challenge. I will be using the LOTR Conqueror Challenge to track my progress - this means the added bonus that Conqueror Challenges pledge to plant 25 trees!
Though I'm a keen walker and weightlifter, and began running during lockdown, I've never taken on a physical challenge like this before. 12 months sounds a long time but works out at around 84 miles a month. I have Fibromyalgia and can struggle to exercise during wet and damp weather, so reaching my goal over that period will not always be straightforward.
The Road goes ever on and on....
Trussell Trust:
Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks.
We say this because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. That’s why we are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.
Our vision is ambitious, but we know that if we work together it is possible. We can create a future where nobody goes hungry, because nobody will allow it – when we work Together for Change.
