Arabella loves a challenge so she’s asked me and Maree to join her in a 5k inflatable race. Arabella had 6 different chemotherapy drugs and each have different short and long term side effect. A common side effect for vincristine is numbness and muscle weakness. This challenge will help focus Arabella on her recovery in a fun way while raising money for Abby’s heroes.

Every year, having discovered the news that their child has been diagnosed with cancer, families enter either the Piam Brown Ward for 0-16yr olds, or the TYA Teenage and Young Adults Ward 16-24yrs at UHS University Hospital Southampton.

The whole ethos of Abby's Heroes is to place our arm around the shoulders of these families and support them during this journey. We offer Financial Grants to help with the financial burden of having your child diagnosed, Practical support, Memory Making grants, Welfare Packs, Counselling service for the entire family, as well as two evening meals and a picnic lunch every week.
