Story
This year I am taking on the challenge of the Great South Run and raising money for the Samaritans, which is a charity very close to me.
Looking after mental health is such an important topic especially at the moment with everything going on in the world. We all have our own battles and sometimes it can be hard to see how we can get through them.
During lockdown, my mental health spiralled and I was in a pretty bad place but running helped me get outside and slowly helped improve my mental health as well as reaching out to the Samaritans who were amazing.
Unfortunately I have had friends who have struggled in the past and have taken their own lives because they didn’t feel they can reach out.
The Samaritans do amazing work and have helped save so many lives that they are such a vital part of our community and need all the support we can give them.
So I am running for everyone who has ever struggled with their mental health and know that there is always help when and where you need it.
