Story
In August last summer, my Mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer (specifically cancer of the colon). Since then, she has been going through chemotherapy. Every treatment, the side effects get worse. In the face of really hard times, she is still so positive and is such an inspiration to me. I find it so hard to not be able to make it better, whilst seeing her go through so much.
Not being able to change anything right now, I would like to try to help those who might face this cancer in the future. So, on the 16th February, I am going to be shaving my head to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK, and will donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust.
By raising funds, I hope to help all those who are coping with bowel cancer, as well as preventing many more people from suffering from this terrible disease.
Bowel Cancer UK provides support for everyone affected by bowel cancer, raises awareness of the cancer, and researches into the causes of the disease and better treatment.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs for free, for children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
I hope that this will help find an easier treatment, not only for my mum, but for everyone facing bowel cancer.
I would be really grateful for any donations towards this important cause that is so close to my family’s heart.
A really big thank you from me for all your support as I… Brave the Shave!
