Story

When my close friends Eleanor & Lily asked me to blow the dust off my running shoes to join them for the London Landmarks Half Marathon, I couldn't think of a better cause than the UK Sepsis Trust.

Sepsis is something my colleagues and I see and tackle daily in A&E, and the UK Sepsis Trust do a vital job at raising awareness of this life-threatening condition that sadly really could affect anyone. From public campaigns to providing educational resources that we are all trained with and use daily, to supporting survivors and their families, any money I can help to raise for them is undoubtably going to a great cause and I am so pleased to be able to help support them.

In the mean time, it turns out that running 13miles is a LOT further than my usual running around A&E, and a bigger challenge than I have ever tackled before...

I would be very grateful to anyone that could please contribute a small amount towards my fundraising mission, as Lily, Eleanor & I train to plod our way around London!

Thank you,

Hannah

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
