Story
I love St Andrews- the church community I am a part of. It has been so welcoming to me and my family since we moved to Hove. Whilst the church is full of the most wonderful people - the church building desperately needs some renovation. Most importantly we need some loos!! With accessible toilets, a small kitchen and a more flexible space (no uncomfy wooden pews!) we will be able to support and love our community so much better. This reordering project will mean we can do so much more for young people, people experiencing homelessness and loneliness and provide a safe, warm and loving place to be, for whoever needs it.
In order to raise the funds for this important work we're walking 26.2 miles for St Andrew's! St. Andrew's stands as a beacon of hope, bringing people together from all walks of life to worship, enjoy friendship and to serve the community.
Throughout the week St Andrews provides a number of free, inclusive activities including a kids and adult choir, youth group, coffee mornings, brunches and warm welcome hubs.
These activities make our spiritual home a bastion against poverty and isolation. But this bastion is physically crumbling!
Currently lacking essential facilities such as a kitchen and toilet, and burdened with outdated, environmentally unfriendly heating, we are eager to embark on a transformative journey to make our church a more inclusive and accessible hub for all whilst highlighting the beauty and heritage of the building. Part of this journey is a 26.2 mile walk on 21st of April. It's going to be hard but we're doing it because we love our church and we love our community. Please sponsor us!
