Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page! Whether you're here to follow my journey or considering a donation, your support means the world to me and to the incredible families at Children's Hospice South West (CHSW).

Last year I made some wonderful friends along the way and am excited to be joining Team Goose for 2025. Goose is the nickname of a very special Little Girl called Ophelia who has an ultra-rare life-limiting condition called RNF13, and suffers from various heath complications including severe epilepsy, breathing difficulties, scoliosis and CVI.

Ophelia and her family have been able to receive respite care from CHSW, specifically Little Harbour near St Austell. The time spent here is truly priceless and a place to create memories that may otherwise be impossible.

Together, Team Goose will be taking on this challenge for a cause that touches our hearts deeply – providing care, comfort, and joy to children with life-limiting conditions.

CHSW’s care goes beyond medical support; they create precious memories for families during their most challenging times. I have been fortunate to be invited to visit Little Harbour in St Austell a few times and each time I learn even more about the positive impact the hospice has on families in need. From the music room and hydrotherapy pool to the gardens designed for families to relax together, CHSW leaves no stone unturned in supporting families when they need it most.

Ride for Precious Lives is a 200-mile cycling challenge through the beautiful landscapes of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. This year we will be doing it in reverse and starting at Little Harbour in St Austell, visiting Little Bridge House in Barnstaple and finishing at Charlton Farm near Nailsea. It’s a tough ride, but every single mile is worth it for the smiles, the moments, and the memories this charity helps create.

Please help me reach my sponsorship target of £1,250 which could help to provide:

🚴‍♀️ Heat, light and power for 1 week at 1 of our hospices

🚴‍♀️ An uninterrupted night's sleep for a parent, to give them the strength to face tomorrow

🚴‍♀️ Intensive and compassionate support for families in the days following the death of their son or daughter

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for supporting Children's Hospice South West. Together, we can make every moment count for these amazing families.
