We would like to invite you to the Steubenville Country Club on September 28th for the 3rd Annual Haley Weiss Memorial Golf Outing. All of the proceeds will benefit PXA & APXA Brain Tumor Research at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA. We love to be a part of giving back to Children's Hospital after all they did for Haley. This type of tumor is very rare, so with everyone's help we will be able to provide support towards advancing this specific research.

Haley put up a long and hard fight against brain cancer. She underwent brain surgery in December of 2020 to remove a tumor called an anaplastic pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (APXA). After finding out it had been malignant, the doctors wanted to give her more treatment to prevent the regrowth of it. She went through radiation on her whole head and spine in early 2021. After that, they put her on a form of chemo pills. Unfortunately, the aggressive type of tumor slowly began to grow back, with the appearance of several other small tumors throughout her brain. The APXA grew 6 times as large from September to October, taking over the right side of her brain. Throughout the whole journey, she fought hard and was always in good spirits. Her doctors always talked about how amazing of a patient she was, smiling through it all.

Haley graduated from Moon Area High School in 2020 and then went on to further her education at CCAC to become a Radiology Technician. She was actively involved in cheerleading, gymnastics, and rugby throughout her life. She is a two-time State Champion in Pennsylvania for gymnastics and rugby. Her senior year of high school, she was voted with having the Most School Spirit.

Haley showed great perseverance to anything she was faced with. It is in our honor to carry on her legacy by finding the light in any situation we are challenged with. Going through tough times with an optimistic outlook and 100% effort is exactly what she did. Forever Haley Strong.
