Story

Hi all,

My name is Professor Guy Pratt, a Consultant Haematologist based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Alongside working with University Of Birmingham, I am Deputy Director of the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit. I am also Secretary for both the British Society of Haematology and Trustee for Cure Leukaemia.

I am running my 8th Marathon in New York City on 3rd November 2024 and hope to raise £2000 for Cure Leukaemia. Over the last 24 years being a Haematology Consultant, I have raised thousands of pounds for a range of blood cancer charities.

I have seen first hand the devastating effect Leukaemia can have on the emotional, physical and social well-being of patients, and so, I want to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.

Cure Leukaemia enables clinicians to develop new and effective treatments, providing resources and support groups for patients and their families. As well as funding for research nurses which is vital for future development.

I would be extremely grateful for any donation big or small, which will have a huge impact on countless lives.
