In a few months time, David and I will be running the Thames marathon in honour of David’s mum, Jenny. Jenny Hockey was a beloved Mum, daughter, sister, and friend, who sadly passed on the 4th of May 2022. She bravely and heroically fought terminal cancer for almost 5 years, and left an indelible impression on everyone she met thanks to her warmth, wittiness, and most of all, kindness.

In lieu of floral tributes, Jenny asked that people donate to Longfield hospice, who took such incredible care of her in her final days.

Longfield provides care and support for adults in Gloucestershire touched by life limiting illness. The well-being centre helps patients and their families from diagnosis onwards. For those in their last days or weeks of life they provide hospice care at home. Unbelievably, despite helping those most in need, this service is run by a charity. Longfield has to raise 85% of its funding each year just to continue giving this critical care and support. We hope by running this marathon we can do our small bit to help Longfield continue helping families in need.
