This iconic walk will see the community unite to take strides through the Capital, as we reflect, remember and raise awareness of brain tumours. Together, we can lead the way in accelerating cures and helping those diagnosed live longer and better.

Story

My grandfather, ‘Grumps’ as he was affectionately known to me, was cruelly snatched from our lives last October, just six months after receiving the devastating diagnosis of an untreatable brain tumour. I miss him terribly and I will be completing this challenge in his memory.

Grumps was an avid railway enthusiast and I have inherited his passion for trains. We spent many hours playing with his model railway collection and finding steam engines to admire and ride. While the precious memories I have of Grumps will live on, I have been robbed of my future with him and I want to do all I can to prevent others from losing their loved ones to this horrific disease.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Fighting brain tumours on all fronts of research, awareness and support is the only way to save lives, reduce long-term disabilities and to support everyone affected by a brain tumour.

I am walking 10km (6.2 miles) to help raise awareness and vital funding for this underfunded illness with a very low survival rate. Please sponsor me and help to prevent other people from suffering like my Grumps did.

I am very grateful for all donations, no matter how big or small. Thank you so much.
