We provide life-enhancing support to the UK's fire & rescue community.

Story

On Friday 29th March 2024 (Good Friday), Crew Manager Tom Ladds and Firefighter Jack Drogan from Bollington Fire Station are going to hike the Gritstone Trail, wearing Firefighting kit and Breathing Apparatus sets (not the masks!), to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. The Gritstone Trail follows the most westerly hills of the Peak District, starting from Kidsgrove and ending at Disley Train Station for 35 miles and just short of 6000ft of elevation. The trail is mainly footpaths and muddy trails, and includes local hills such as Bosley Cloud and Mow Cop, up to the most local landmark to Bollington Fire Station, White Nancy, then through Lyme Park where we will be finishing up at Disley Train Station.

We will be completing the route in one go, which should take around 18 hours. We will be updating the Bollington Fire Station's social media as we go, so feel free to join at any points for support - on-the-go donations can be made by using the QR codes, or via the JustGiving page.

We are raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity - this charity provides life-enhancing mental and physical support to past and present UK Fire Fighters, and their families, who have been affected whilst serving. For more information on this great charity, visit their website https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/

Thanks for reading, we hope to see some of you on the trail!
