Story
We are delighted to join Team Royal Surrey Charity Riders and to support a hospital that has treated several of our family members over the years.
We dedicate our ride to Caroline’s father, Howard, and our wonderful friend, Victoria; both were taken from us far too young, but the strength they showed during gruelling rounds of chemotherapy inspires us to support a charity that is making a real difference to the lives of patients and their families. Victoria had access to cold cap therapy – Royal Surrey Charity has recently funded a mobile cold cap unit – and extolled the importance that maintaining her hair had in lessening the impact of her illness on her young daughter. The new centre will handle 7000 more patients a year.
In our day jobs – I work for NHS England and Caroline works for an oncology research and development company – we find ourselves close to both patient stories and funding constraints, on a daily basis. That makes us extremely aware of the huge, positive impact that providing access to novel treatments and technologies, as Royal Surrey Charity is doing so successfully, has on the lives of patients and their families.
We would be very grateful for your sponsorship! We’re both going to ride 50 miles over quite a hilly route – who would you back for the win, Greg or Caroline?
Thank you!
